LTBHS Testimonials
This is our 10-year-old beloved Lucy, rescued from LTBHS in 2002. Every day she walks around downtown Petoskey and we are asked "What kind of a dog is s/he?" We ALWAYS plug the Humane Society. Who would ever choose a purebred over a gorgeous mixed breed pet? We love our LTBHS "Bassador" (bassett/lab mix).Paws for News!
Adopt a Dog

My name is Monty and I'm a one-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever who just became available for adoption! As you can tell from my picture, I'm a real cutie and I hope it won't be long until I find my forever home. If you like labs, I hope you'll take a chance on me. I promise I'll be the best dog ever.
Adopt a Cat

Estelle is a beautiful one-year-old domestic long-haired cat who just became available for adoption. She is very loving and ready to share that love with a forever family. Learn more about Estelle and all of the other fantastic felines available for adoption at www.ltbhs.com.

Little Traverse Bay Humane Society is dedicated to providing animals the tender, loving care and attention they need to become adoptable companions.
From our humble beginning in 1953, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society has grown to meet the needs of homeless dogs and cats. Since moving to our state-of-the-art facility at 1300 West Conway in Harbor Springs, Michigan, in 2001, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society has sterilized more than 10,000 animals owned by community members and has placed more than 5,000 animals into loving homes. In addition to being an adoption center, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society offers a variety of proactive programs to help shelter animals become adoptable companions including the “Pit Stop Program,” the “Ruff-to-Ready Scholarship Program,” “Spay-it-Fourward,” the “Animals Need to Give Everybody Love (ANGEL) Program,” and boarding and grooming. Little Traverse Bay Humane Society is led by a staff and board of dedicated animal lovers willing to work extremely hard to improve the lives of our four-legged friends. Our top priority is to care for the animals who need us the most. We believe these animals warrant our best effort, and despite being “ownerless,” deserve a loving place to call home. Please ensure that every animal who comes through our doors receives exceptional care. Become a member of the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society today. |

Little Traverse Bay Humane Society is a 100 percent donor-funded, no-kill, non-profit corporation that offers a temporary home to companion animals. Every day, we work toward achieving our mission of offering warm shelter, veterinary services, and personal attention to all the animals in our care, as well as proactive methods to control pet overpopulation. The shelter is funded solely by donations, grants, fundraisers, and shelter operations.
