Become a Member of LTBHS

There’s never been a better time or a more important reason to become a Little Traverse Bay Humane Society member!

Did you know that for every one animal adopted, there are five more who need homes? Because our shelter is 100 percent donor funded, our members are crucial to ensuring that every animal who comes through our doors receives exceptional care. We can’t provide this exceptional care without exceptional members like you.

Members not only support our mission to offer warm shelter, veterinary services, and personal attention to all the animals in our care, as well as proactive methods to control pet overpopulation, but also support the various programs we have developed to provide animals with the care and attention they need to become adoptable companions. In addition to being an adoption center, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society offers a variety of programs including the “Pit Stop Program,” the “Ruff-to-Ready Scholarship Program,” “Spay-it-Fourward” and boarding and grooming.

Please help us continue to save the lives of homeless animals and offer them a warm, safe place to stay until they can find their forever home –their lives are depending on you!

Be a Hero to Howard and His Pals!

At LTBHS, we go above and beyond to help our residents find their forever homes.  Sometimes this includes treating costly medical conditions seen in the special animals below.

These are just a few of the cases of animals who come through our doors every year who require extra medical treatment.  TheMichael G. Phillips Good Samaritan Fund is especially important as it provides foremergency medical care for animals like Howard, Prospect and Blake.  As you can imagine, emergency health care situations are always critical and often expensive. We hope you’ll consider donating to our Michael G. Phillips Good Samaritan Fund that provides emergency medical and special needs care to the animals who require it most.  With your help, we can give hope to the animals who would otherwise have none.

Molly's Fund

molly dogMolly's Fund is specifically used for transport costs associated with rescue missions.  This includes fuel, maintenance on our van and additional travel expenses. Molly's Fund was established after LTBHS Board Member and volunteer Bob Hull lost his beloved dog, Molly, who was also his traveling companion when he went on these rescue trips.  The fund was established in her memory and is essential so that we may continue to rescue more animals from at-risk situations.  To donate to Molly's Fund, CLICK HERE or call 231-347-2396.
