Come pawty with us at Little Traverse Bay Humane Society as we participate in this national event to raise awareness for shelter animals! Join us for a 24-hour event taking place Saturday, March 25-Sunday, March 26, 12 p.m. to 12 p.m. with fun shelter events and the goal to raise funds for a new transport van to help us rescue more animals in need.
Through the Shelter Slumber Pawty, we are fundraising for a very important need for our organization: a new transport van. We are launching our intra-state Movin’ On Up Program through Molly’s Transport Fund. Together with our coalition of shelter partners that currently includes Bark Nation, Dog Aide, Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society, and Detroit Animal Care and Control, the program aims to rescue animals in at-risk situations and transport them to northern Michigan to find new homes. Our old van is no longer safe and reliable for long trips downstate and beyond. A new vehicle will allow us to increase our efforts to save more animal lives through transport. In 2022 alone, we rescued 372 animals directly through our Transport Program. A new transport van will allow us to save even more!
Our goal is to raise $45,000 to purchase the van. We are SO very excited to announce that we have the opportunity to participate in a matching gift campaign through Best Friends Animal Society who will match every donation, dollar for dollar, up to $22,500.
